As Aikey was stopped, his passenger, later identified as Kyle J. Burnett, 24, of the 1400 block of Vincent exited the vehicle and reportedly fled on foot west on Ashcroft Road, turning south onto Vincent Street. During the pursuit, Burnett allegedly began removing items from his pockets, including a cell phone and an item approximately the size of an eyeglass case. Police later subdued Burnett after tasering him.

Burnett was arrested in the 1400 block of Vincent on a probation and parole absconder warrant and on suspicion of the following: felonious resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the probable cause statement by PBPD Patrolman James Sample, one of the items reportedly belonging to Burnett contained six syringes and five small Ziploc bags, one of which contained two grams of a substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.

Burnett and Aikey are both being held at the Butler County jail.
