Because of the severe thunderstorm Sunday afternoon, Twin Rivers R-X had to postpone its recognition of seniors. However, the district has rescheduled the event for this weekend.

The district planned a parade for the seniors that would start at Twin Rivers High School, travel through Qulin and then through Fisk.

During this parade, seniors would travel in vehicles to meet social distancing guidelines and community members could come out along the parade route to recognize them.

High School Principal Misti Lovelace said the parade will now happen this coming Sunday, but if the forecast is calling for rain, they’ll have it on Saturday instead.

They scheduled the parade for the seniors’ original graduation date to recognize them. Lovelace said in a poll most seniors voted to wait for a time when they can have a traditional graduation rather than trying for an alternative method. They have not decided on a date for that ceremony.
