There’s plenty of options this weekend for your MAIN EVENT. It's packed with events celebrating Juneteenth, as well as Father’s Day. Northside Community Center will host a hotdog lunch with family-friendly activities starting at 10 a.m. Friday at their building. Hotdog lunches are $3 per adult or two for $5. Nachos are $3. Kids 12 and under eat free.
This Juneteenth commemorative event begins with opening ceremonies in the morning. Festivities include games, trivia contests, music and bingo.
Another event will begin at 9 a.m. at Bacon Park. It will include music, karaoke, a talent show and other activities.
At 11 a.m., the Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation Department will host a Father’s Day craft event at Hendrickson Park.

— Snakes Alive! June 17 at 2 p.m. WHERE Poplar Bluff Municipal Library Main Branch. COST Free. WHAT A presentation for kids by the Missouri Department of Conservation on area snakes and their habitats. First come, first serve entry.
— “Precious Heart” 7:30 p.m. June 17, 18, 24 and 25; and 3 p.m. June 19 and 26. WHERE The Method Playhouse under First United Methodist Church, 500 N. Main St. COST $12 for adults, $6 for children. Tickets available at pbstageco.com and at the door. WHAT The Stage Company presents a one-character comedy starring Greg Smith as vivacious 73-year-old spinster Fleeta Mae Bryte.
— Yarnaholics, 1-3 p.m. June 17. WHERE Margaret Harwell Art Museum main building. COST Free. WHAT The Yarnaholics fiber arts and crafts group has moved from the Poplar Bluff Municipal Library to MHAM. Anyone who enjoys knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitch or any other fiber art is welcome. All skill levels and ages are welcome and must bring their own supplies. The group meets every other Friday.
— Rayni Day Miracles Memorial Run 5K, 7 a.m. June 18 WHERE McLane Park, Poplar Bluff COST Late entry (after June 4) $30 WHAT 7 a.m. registration, 8 a.m. race start.
