Two suspects were arrested Monday in connection to an armed robbery Saturday evening at The Bottle Shop on South Westwood Boulevard.
Two white males entered the store at approximately 6:30 p.m. and threatened the store owner with a handgun, said Lt. Josh Stewart.
Nathan Murray-Grobes, 32, and Nicholas Barton, 31, both of Campbell, were arrested at 12:30 p.m. in Campbell, Stewart said. Neither the cash nor a possible weapon used during the robbery had been recovered as of early Monday afternoon.
Police received anonymous tips that a vehicle caught on camera near The Bottle Shop could be found at Barton’s residence in Campbell. The men arrived at the residence after police had been dispatched to check on the tip, Stewart said.
The men allegedly fled Saturday with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving from a vehicle that had been parked nearby. A dark colored 2007 Dodge Caliber was caught on surveillance video and had two spray-painted blue fenders.
Surveillance video from the business shows an individual in a blue hooded sweatshirt pointing a gun at a man behind the store’s cash register, according to images released by the police department.
“One of them was armed with a handgun,” Stewart said Saturday evening. “Both were wearing sweatshirts with hoods pulled up and both had face coverings.”
The men appear to have parked in a lot south of the business, and may have spent time watching activity at The Bottle Shop before entering.
The owner was the only person in the business when the men entered, Stewart said.
“They were in there for a short time, maybe checking to see that there weren’t any customers. One of the males approached the register and pulled a handgun,” Stewart said.
The men took the cash from the register but did not take any other items, he said.
Campbell Police Department was instrumental in assisting with this investigation, Stewart said. No injuries were reported.
