Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Poplar Bluff with a family scavenger hunt and a 5K run. Enjoy a variety of events including art exhibits, fundraisers, and performances throughout March for all ages.

St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, so find a clover, wear green and get ready to celebrate with this week’s MAIN EVENT.

The Poplar Bluff Library and Parks & Recreation are hosting a family scavenger hunt from Friday to Monday. Photograph the hidden leprechauns and pots ‘o gold at the library, McLane Park and Hendrickson Park, then show your photos to library or parks staff to get a goody bag.

Adults and kids looking for a faster-paced event can tackle the Lucky Leprechaun’s Rotary Ramble 5K at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. This walk/run course benefits Rotary Club programs. Sign up or donate at pbparks.recdesk.com.

— Laura Clark Artist’s Reception, 1-3 p.m. March 9. WHERE Tinnin Fine Arts Center. WHAT Don’t miss Laura Clark’s vibrant, modern artwork, blending abstract and contemporary styles. Her work features lively cityscapes, serene landscapes, expressive portraits, and spiritual themes. This exhibit runs from March 5-31 during normal gallery hours, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday–Friday. Admission is free. The artist’s reception will be held in the gallery.

— Find the Leprechaun and Pot O’ Gold, all day March 14-17. WHERE Poplar Bluff Municipal Library, McLane Park and Hendrickson Park. COST Free. WHAT Leprechauns and Pots O’ Gold will be hidden at area parks. Follow the library on Facebook to find out which parks will be included. Snap a picture with a Leprechaun and Pot O’ Gold, then show the photo to the library or Parks & Recreation staff to claim a fun goody bag.

— The Lucky Leprechaun’s Rotary Ramble 5K, 10:30 a.m. March 15. WHERE McLane Park. COST $30. WHAT The Poplar Bluff Rotary Club hosts a 5K walk/run to benefit the all-inclusive Robert’s Adventure Playground and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. — Elvis impersonator Doug Church performs, 7-9 p.m. March 15 WHERE Rodgers Theatre COST $20 WHAT Doug Church, a world-renowned Elvis impersonator, brings his talents to the stage for an unforgettable performance.

— MOYC Pasta Dinner Fundraiser, 12:30 p.m. March 16. WHERE Cornerstone Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. COST Donation only. WHAT A fundraiser for CT Youth Ministry to attend MOYC. Includes live music, games, food and child care.

— Feathered Tales: Storytime and Watercolor Fun, 10:30 a.m. March 18. WHERE Poplar Bluff Municipal Library, Main Branch. COST Free. WHAT A special storytime featuring Lilly & Reva from the Missouri Department of Conservation.

— A Bird’s-Eye View: Special STEM Club, 5:30 p.m. March 20. WHERE Poplar Bluff Municipal Library, Main Branch Theater room. COST Free. WHAT Join the STEM crew as guest presenters from MDC focus on Missouri birds.

— Author Event with Gregg Jones, 1-3 p.m. March 22. WHERE Poplar Bluff Municipal Library, Main Branch. COST Free. WHAT Gregg Jones, born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, is a distinguished journalist and author. Jones has authored four nonfiction books, with his latest work, “Most Honorable Son: A Forgotten Hero’s Fight Against Fascism and Hate During World War II,” published in 2024. Jones will hold a book talk and signing at the library at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, followed by an author reception at 6 p.m. at the Poplar Bluff Museum.

— Silver Screen Sundays “Bringing Up Baby,” 2-4 p.m. March 23 WHERE The Rodgers Theatre COST Free. WHAT A classic movie screening.

— Last day of the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive, March 24. WHERE Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. WHAT A food drive for SEMO Food Bank. Donation barrels located in the lobbies and cafeteria of PBRMC. Peanut, almond and sunflower butter are accepted. Plastic jars only.

— Men’s Golf League Kick-Off Meeting, 5:15 p.m. March 25. WHERE Ozark Ridge Golf Course Clubhouse. WHAT A meeting about the upcoming Men’s Golf League season. Golfers of all skill levels and visitors are welcome.

— 4-H Youth Shooting Sports Certification, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. March 29. WHERE Butler County Extension Office. COST Free. WHAT Safety training for 4-H members ages 8-18. Register by calling the Extension Office at 573-686-8064.

— Fundraiser Barn Quilt Painting Class, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March 29. WHERE Community Center Doniphan, 101 Washington St., Doniphan. COST $25-$45. WHAT A spring barn quilt painting class with different sizes and options available. Quilt patterns will be laid out so attendees can begin quilt painting upon arrival. The class will be limited to 30. Everyone is welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks. A 12-by-12-inch canvas is $25, a 24-by-24 canvas is $35, and a 24-by-24 board is $45.
