The annual Madison/Wayne County women in ag meeting is back in Madison county this year. Don't miss it! We are visiting 2 farms, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, lunch and presentations will be held at Vance Vineyards.
The first visit will be to Mark Shetley's Dairy Farm in Fredericktown. He will be demonstrating and talking about the operations on the farm. Lunch will be served at Vance Vineyards followed with presentations including, soap making, photography, high tunnels, & USDA/FSA loan information.
Following lunch and presentations our last visit will be at the farm facility at JC Shetley's. We will learn about the waste management barn, which was installed in 2015, through state cost share program and how much benefit it has proven throughout the years. Warren Cork, with the NRCS will be there as well talking about soil health along with the soil health trailer which includes a rain simulator demonstration.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at Mark Shetley's farm and end after the final farm visit of JC Shetley's farm, approximately 3 p.m.
