The Missouri Association for Family and Community Education elected Shirley Kirkley of Poplar Bluff to serve as district director of the Southeast Region.
Her duties will include coordinating the organization's Fall and Spring District meetings, serving on the MAFCE State Board, and coordinating recipe testing for the Today's Farmer Magazine. Kirkley has been a member of MAFCE for 15 years. She is a member of the FUN Club and has served as president and she has also served as president of Butler County MAFCE. She and her husband of 44 years, Frank, have four adult children and six grandchildren. Although they are retired they continue to work and are business owners.
Kirkley enjoys volunteering, traveling and camping, and making candy. She is a member of the Red Hat Ladies - SEMO Sassy Lassies, and she is a member in the Book Club Buddies.
