Storm spotters are reporting trees down on a house and cars on County Road 461, west of Poplar Bluff, and damage to a house on County Road 470, said Craig Meador of the Poplar Bluff Severe Weather Response Team.

The storm was moving out of Butler County as of 3:15 p.m., he said. With the temperature drop, it is believed the threat of severe weather has passed.

The National Weather Service reports close to an inch of rain has fallen today and .29-inches in the past hour. The temperature dropped from 84 degrees at 2 p.m. to 71 degrees at 3 p.m.

Ozark Border reported just over 1,000 customers without power in Butler County shortly after 3 p.m.

As of 4:45 p.m., the number had dropped to 321 in Butler County.

Total outages across a seven county area remained near 1,000, including 195 in Dunklin County, 180 in Stoddard County, 141 in Wayne County and 39 in Carter County, according to the electric cooperative’s outage map.
