Holcomb, Mo. — With candidate filing for the next election cycle approaching in less than three months, State Senator Jason Bean (R-Holcomb) is announcing his re-election campaign for the 25th District in the Missouri Senate. Bean was elected in 2020 and is about to conclude his first term in the Missouri Senate.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the folks of the 25th District in the Missouri Senate the past three years,” said Bean. “I look forward to a productive legislative session, and then will be continuing my travels throughout the region meeting folks and hearing about issues that matter to you.”

A press release from Bean’s office stated that during his tenure, Bean delivered multiple wins and successes for citizens, families, and businesses of Southeast Missouri and the Bootheel. Investments into Southeast Missouri and the Bootheel include funding for the University of Missouri Fisher Delta Research Center and the Boys & Girls Club of the Heartland. Gov. Mike Parson also signed into law legislation sponsored by Bean, including legislation protecting citizens and farmers from eminent domain with compensation for the public use of their land, and a texting and driving ban with commonsense exceptions.

Bean currently serves as the Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, as well as being a member of the influential Senate Appropriations Committee and the Senate Committee on Transportation, Infrastructure, and Public Safety. He also serves in the Missouri Senate leadership as the Assistant Majority Floor Leader, a position he was elected to by his fellow Republican senators.

Bean is a fifth-generation Missourian, raised in the Bootheel. He currently lives on and operates the same farm where he grew up and learned how to farm. He attended the University of Missouri – Columbia where he majored in agronomy and minored in animal science. After graduating, he worked hard to turn the family farm into a successful agribusiness. Senator Bean loves the outdoors and is an avid fisher, hunter and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

The 25th District consists of Butler, Carter, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Oregon, Pemiscot, Ripley, Stoddard and Wayne counties. Bean’s office can be reached at 573-751-4843 and through his official Senate webpage at senate.mo.gov/Bean to provide assistance or answer questions about state government.
