The Rodgers Theatre is holding its annual Holiday Double Feature the evening after Thanksgiving, showing Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas at 6 p.m. Friday and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York at 7:35.

“It’s always been very well received and it’s a good way to kick off the Christmas season,” said theater director Wally Duncan.

The 1966 animated classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” revolves around the famously holiday-hating Grinch, voiced by Boris Karloff, and his dastardly plan to steal Christmas itself from the Whos of Whoville. As he pulls off his heist, however, he realizes maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store — maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

In “Home Alone 2,” Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) loses track of his family at the airport and mistakenly boards a plane to the Big Apple. Shenanigans ensue as he cons his way into a fancy hotel, meets new friends and once again faces off against the Sticky Bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) as they attempt to rob a toy store at Christmastime.

The Grinch, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be at the theater to pose for photos with moviegoers. All will be wearing masks to avoid spreading COVID-19 with their Christmas cheer, even the Grinch.

Admission is free and donations are welcome.

The Rodgers Theatre is located at 204 N. Broadway.
