River stages across Butler, Wayne, Carter and Stoddard counties are expected to crest below flood stages Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Local officials have been monitoring rainfall and potential flooding hazards.

"The Black River is not predicted to top flood stage," Butler County Emergency Management Agency Director Robbie Myers said Saturday afternoon.

Many ditches are full, but conditions should not get worse unless more rain comes through, he said.

He cautioned residents to be careful of low lying areas. No one should try to drive through standing water, Myers said.
