The Poplar Bluff R-I Board approved two retirements, seven resignations, four terminations and 12 employments at their closed session meeting Dec. 15.
There was one certified personnel retirement, that of Cynthia McIver, the IEP facilitator at Poplar Bluff Middle School. The only classified retirement was Sherry Jameson, nurse at Oak Grove Elementary School. Both retirements are effective at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Certified resignations were Shelia Boyles, high dosage academic tutor at Lake Road Elementary; Aimie Parkin, head varsity volleyball coach at Poplar Bluff High School; Kayla Sanderson Sparks, social studies teacher at PBHS; and Mary Tolliver, teacher at Eugene Field Elementary. Classified resignations were Jordan Hatfield, custodian at Oak Grove Elementary; Lori Hillis, companion aide at PBHS; an Kelli Vaughn, companion aide at PBMS. Sparks’ and Tolliver’s departures are effective Dec. 21, while the rest are set for the end of the current school year.
There were four classified personnel terminations: Samuel Pasquin, at-risk credit recovery instructor at PBHS; Kimari Matthews, probationary custodian at Poplar Bluff Junior High School; Brittany Miller, full-time custodian at PBMS; and Dustin Whitaker, probationary custodian at PBJH.
Classified personnel employments were Brandus Bailey, bus driver at the transportation department; Payton Cates, companion aide at PBHS; Larry Cook, custodian at O’Neal Elementary; John Dunivan, substitute bus driver at the transportation department; Rebecca Garrison, custodian at Eugene Field Elementary; Quineshia Hood, custodian at PBMS; Stephen Hood, custodian at PBHS; Walter Jackson, companion aide at PBJH; Clinton Ruble, bus aide/driver at the Transportation Department; Jacob Vickery, security guard at PBMS; and Taylor Wentzel, custodian at Eugene Field Elementary. The only AmeriCorps employment was Anthony Curnutt II as AmeriCorps tutor.
