PUXICO, Mo. -- A Puxico woman remains in the Stoddard County Jail, charged with domestic assault and first degree property damage after allegedly ramming a vehicle repeatedly into a tree and a house trailer and attempting several times to run over her male companion.
According to a probable cause statement by Stoddard County Sheriff's Deputy Andy Starnes and filed with the court on June 10, 2017, Starnes was summoned to a residence on Highway PP in rural Puxico at 11:23 p.m. Friday, June 9, in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress.
Upon arriving at the residence, Starnes found Hill and a male friend "sitting calmly on a couch," but the male subject and neighbors had witnessed anything but calm prior to the deputy's arrival.
Starnes questioned the two separately and observed Hill to be slurring her words and "moving in a very slow manner."
Questioned, Hill told the deputy she had consumed alcohol and was taking prescription medication as well. Shown a prescribed bottle of Alprazolam, Starnes took note that the bottle contained only two pills, in spite of the fact that 60 pills had been prescribed just six days prior, with instructions to take two daily.
The male subject told Starnes that Hill had become belligerent after consuming alcohol about two hours earlier in the evening and that the pair got into a "verbal altercation," at which time Hill began driving her black Honda Sante Fe around the yard of the residence, "striking various objects" as she drove.
"(The male subject) was standing by a tree, and Hill attempted to hit him several times with her vehicle," Starnes said in his report. He also stated the male subject knew Hill "needed help, but he did not want to pursue charges."
Neighbors, however, were also victims of the rampage, and they did choose to press charges against Hill. The vehicle, Starnes noted, had "extensive damage" all over the exterior, especially to its front and rear. Also noted was extensive damage to the house trailer that was located directly west of the Hill trailer. Tire and circular marks and extensive damage to a tree in front of the Hill trailer were also noted.
The neighbors, whose trailer sustained the damage, reported having observed Hill driving on the property "in an erratic manner." Neighbors also witnessed Hill attempting to strike the male subject and ramming the vehicle into the tree numerous times. Hill was witnessed by the neighbors driving the vehicle and "screaming in a belligerent manner."
Hill was placed under arrest at 1:04 a.m. and charged with DWI, assault, failure to register a motor vehicle and for having no insurance. She remains in jail under a cash only bond of $7,500 and is scheduled to appear before Judge Joe Satterfield on Thursday, June 15.
