Crystal L. Daley, 42, was arraigned on charges of second degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm on Tuesday morning at the Butler County Courthouse. Daley requested additional time to retain council. A case review was scheduled for Tuesday, May 2.

The charges were filed in connection to the death of Clifton Reed of Poplar Bluff, who was found dead on Sept. 3, 2021.

“Reed was found at the residence next to his, deceased. It was obvious that he had been shot,” said Lt. Josh Stewart of the Poplar Bluff Police Department. “...Throughout the course of that investigation, Crystal Daley was developed as a suspect and ultimately an indictment was handed down from the grand jury pertaining to the case.”

According to Stewart, Daley was transferred to the Butler County jail from the Missouri Department of Corrections, where she was already imprisoned for a prior conviction of third degree felony assault.
