Poplar Bluff Garden Club members are celebrating National Garden Week Sunday through Saturday, June 6-12, at the Poplar Bluff Library, 318 N. Main St., and are inviting the public to view their display.
The club’s display will include information on topics about trees, pollinators, Missouri native plants, gardening and information about the Poplar Bluff Garden Club, said Carla Aldridge, club president.
Poplar Bluff Garden Club also will be participating in Story Time at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 15.
The Poplar Bluff Garden Club, which was organized May 12, 1937, is a member of Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
“We provide education, resources and national networking opportunities for members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, civic and environment responsibility,” said Aldridge. “Community projects include locations at the Butler County Health Center, a pollinator garden at Hendrickson Park, and our largest landscaping project is located at the Grand Staircase to the Historic Poplar Bluff Depot. The club is also involved in other garden-related activities.”
