A 35-year-old Annapolis man drowned Thursday while swimming in Big Creek at Annapolis.
According to the report, Joey P. Bales attempted to swim to an underwater cave at about 1:15 p.m. and did not resurface.
Bales was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:10 p.m. by an emergency room doctor. He is the third drowning in Troop E this year.

Two area women were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:31 a.m. Thursday on Highway 49, one and one-half miles west of York Village, in Wayne County.
According to the report, Destiny L. Tippen, 21, of Williamsville was operating a 2008 Nissan Versa eastbound when it ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.
Tippen suffered minor injuries, as did her 42-year-old passenger, Brandy L. Sanders of Farmington. Both were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Deshian J. Jackson, 26, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:18 p.m. Thursday on two Butler County warrants for second-degree assault and rape and a Butler County failure to appear warrant fro violation of an order of protection. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

April G. Harmon, 55, of Qulin was arrested at 8:16 p.m. Thursday in Butler County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (prior offender) and failure to drive on the right side of the road resulting in a crash. She was released.

Bobby N. Trusty, 46, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 7:06 p.m. Thursday on two Butler County warrants for non-support and possession of a controlled substance and five Poplar Bluff failure to appear warrants for three counts of health/safety violations, dwelling without utilities and notice to abate nuisance. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

BLOOMFIELD — Jerry Michael Perkey, 35, of Kewanee, Mo., was booked at the Stoddard County Jail on a warrant for probation violation.

MALDEN POLICE DEPARTMENT
MALDEN — Seth Booker, 18, of Malden was arrested Thursday on multiple counts of stealing. He was booked at the Malden City Jail and later transferred to the Dunklin County jail after a warrant was issued.
