A resident on the 170 block of Horseshoe Lane at Harviell reported at 6:47 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, that someone had broken into their home while they were asleep and stole a firearm, taser, cash and two cellphones.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at 10:29 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at 941 Poplar St. The alarm was triggered accidentally.

Firefighters responded to a call for assistance at 6:53 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at 1406 Rosedale. They assisted an EMS crew with lifting a patient.

Firefighters responded to a motor-vehicle crash at 3:27 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at 2910 Barron Rd. Firefighters provided first aid and traffic control.

Firefighters responded at 11:48 aim, Wednesday, Oct. 27, to a motor vehicle accident at 225 N. Westwood Blvd. They provided traffic control until police arrived.

Firefighters responded at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, to a motor vehicle accident at 1100 Pine St. Firefighters helped EMS crews remove one person from a vehicle. They also used hydro break and an absorbent on the roadway to clean up fuel and oil, then washed down the surface.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Roger Wyatt at Wyatt’s Auto Sales reported on Thursday, Oct. 28, that a Dodge Caravan was not returned after a test drive.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Steven H. Hinkle, 26, of Harviell was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in Butler County on suspicion of felony possession of fentanyl and on Butler County warrants for failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to yield and DWI. He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.

A 51-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, on Highway 160, two miles south of Doniphan.

According to the report, Zachary S. Reifschneider, 33, of Thayer was operating a 2005 Ford F-150 westbound when it struck a stationary westbound 2016 Nissan Altima operated by Rodney Laughlin, 51, of Doniphan.

Laughlin was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

At 8:36 p.m., Reifschneider was arrested in Ripley County on suspicion of felony DWI that caused physical injury. He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.

A 31-year-old man sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, on Highway 21, six miles north of Ellington.

According to the report, Solomon T. Whitchurch, 31, of Ellington was operating a 2007 Toyota Camry northbound when it ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.

Whitchurch was taken by ambulance to Iron County Hospital in Ironton.
