Anyone who planned on entering this year's Mingo Swamp Friends' annual Flora and Fauna Photo Contest now has a little more time to do so.
The original entry deadline of 4 p.m. today has been extended until the same time on Aug. 15, giving you two extra weeks to pick your favorite photographs, have them printed and get them delivered to the refuge.
If you aren't already familiar with the contest, a listing of the various categories and divisions is available online at www.mingoswampfriends.org, as is the official entry form and other rules.
All prints should be 8X10 inches in size and not mounted or framed. In addition, an entry form should be attached to each photograph.
All entries will be judged in the early fall, and winners will be notified then.
Winning photographs also will be included as part of a traveling exhibit to promote the refuge over the course of the next year.
