Pedestrian killed in Friday accident

A Ripley County man died Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 160.
Pedestrian Billy R. Hall, 47, of Doniphan reportedly was crossing the road when he was struck by a 2007 Ford Focus being driven eastbound by Remington S. Payne, 21, of Doniphan, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E report.
The accident happened at 6:18 a.m. on Highway 160, west of Route JJ, eight miles east of Doniphan.
Ripley County Coroner Mike Jackson pronounced Hall dead at 6:55 a.m.
Hall is the 14th fatality in Troop E this year. The accident was investigated by the patrol crash team.
