Poplar Bluff Senior High School January Students of the Month are Joseph Hardimon, Wyatt Rowland, John Wyatt Murphy, Michael Joseph, Britten Edmundson, Katherine Rose Pattillo, Shelbey Johnson and Jillian Page.

Hardimon is the son of Shamieca and Terhan Hardimon.

His hobbies are basketball, working out, playing the ps4, hanging with friends and family and listening to music At school, he is involved with DECA and the varsity basketball team.

Hardimon's future plans are to play college basketball while he's earning his bachelor's and master's degrees in business and drama. He said, his career plans are to be in the NBA, become an actor and "own my own business."

Rowland is the son of Steve and Monica Rowland. His hobby is playing wiffle ball. He is a community service volunteer with Glide and serves food to the homeless.

Rowland's school activities are playing on the soccer and baseball teams, he's in DECA and Mule Barn.

His future plans include attending Arizona State/Sonoma State, playing college baseball and taking classes to become an FBI agent.

Jerrod and Beth Murphy are Murphy's parents. His hobbies are flying airplanes, working out, fixing phone screens, building computers, jumping over stuff and "hanging with my squad," he said.

Murphy is a community service (volunteer) with the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and West Side Church of God Sound Tech.

Murphy's high school activities are playing basketball his freshmen and sophomore years, running track the first three years of high school and planning to run track this year.

Murphy has been involved in FBLA for four years serving his freshmen and sophomore years as vice president and during his senior year he is president. He has also served as president of class his sophomore year, treasurer of his junior class, and vice president of his senior class. He's been a Student Council representative all four years. He also has been involved in Science Club, Teenage American Republicans, Mule Barn and Politics Club.

Murphy explains his college and technical plans: are to "attend the United States Airforce Academy. I leave in June for Basic Training and start class at the beginning of August. I plan on graduating from the US Airforce Academy with a degree in computer engineering and minoring in business administration."

Joseph, son of Annette and Richard Joseph, wants to turn his hobby of playing the piano into a career. He plans to earn a music therapy degree at Drury in Springfield and become a musical therapist. He volunteers with the Food Bank and is a member of choir and the Academic team.

Edmundson is the daughter of Matt and Shannon Edmundson.

Her hobbies are cheer, tumbling, and spending time at the family's farm. Edmundson's high school involvement includes STUCO, Mule Barn, Spanish Club, JV cheer squad, and competitive cheer team.

Edmundson said, "I would like to attend University of Georgia" and "go into forensic psychiatry."

Pattillo's parents are John David and Kathleen Pattillo.

"I enjoy hobbies including basketball, soccer, and running," Pattillo said. "I am involved in the Poplar Bluff Lady Mules varsity basketball and soccer teams and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. My plan is to attend either the University of Mississippi or the University of Arkansas and major in pharmacy to become a clinical pharmacist. "

Johnson's grandparents are Shirley and Richard Johnson.

She is a community service volunteer for the Junior High Soccer Tryouts. Johnson's high school involvement includes Varsity Tennis, Varsity Soccer, Mule Barn, Hosa and Boys soccer manager.

She plans to pursue her education while continuing to play soccer at Westminster

"I plan on going into the medical field," said Johnson, adding she is considering becoming a general physician.

Page's parents are Teri and Tony Page.

Her hobbies are reading, discussing politics, listening to political podcasts, cooking, developing humor, organizing personal stocks, throwing knives, self-defense training. Her community service volunteer activities include Lion's Club, volunteering with political campaigns of senators and congressmen such as Roy Blunt and Jason Smith, FBLA and Teenage Republicans.

Page's high school activities include being president of Politics and Math clubs, member of Science Club, Student Council, Teenage Republicans, Academic Team, Future Business Leaders of America and Health Occupation Services of America.

Her plans are to attend Auburn University and become a stock broker.
