The Poplar Bluff Veterans’ Council will present a program in honor of all veterans at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Veterans Wall — Black River Coliseum.
In case of inclement weather, the program will be moved across the street to the VFW.
Keynote Speaker will be retired U.S. Army veteran Robert D. Wake Sr. of the Wake Foundation.
Retired Navy veteran Larry Kimbrow, who is president of VVA Chapter 1056, will give the welcome and the closing. Invocation will be by Rafael Machuca, John J Pershing VAMC chaplain,.
Colors will be posted by the American Legion Riders Post 494, Qulin, and Poplar Bluff JROTC will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Boy Scouts of America Troop Post 4166 of Poplar Bluff will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Jim Todd, U.S. Air Force, will sing the National Anthem, Armed Forces Medley and God Bless American.
The National Anthem wreath presentation will be by Lilly Sexton and Melodie Summers, ALA 153; Betty Gilmore and Pam DeLuna, VFW Auxiliary 6477; Bardis and Jeanette Dismuke, AVVA Chapter 1056; and Carol Stucker, AMVETS Auxiliary 29.
POW/MIA Remembrance will be presented by Jerry Sneathern of the Veterans Honor Tour.
Chandra Miller, interim director of the John J. Pershing VAMC, will give the VA remarks.
The 21 Gun Salute/Taps will be by SEMO Veterans Honor Guard of Poplar Bluff. C. Herbert Breece, U.S. Marine Chaplain, VVA Chapter 1056, will offer the invocation. Poplar Bluff JROTC will retire the colors.
