The Poplar Bluff R-I School District approved the employments, resignations and retirements of multiple employees at its June 23 meeting.
Retirements of approved certified personnel and supplemental duty personnel were Julie Carda-Coleman, help desk teacher at PBHS; and Charles Gearheart, art teacher at Eugene Field and Lake Road elementary schools. Their departures were effective at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
Resignations in this category were Charlene Mills, Head Trap Coach at PBHS and PBJHS; Kelli Spitze, High Dosage Academic Tutor at Oak Grove Elementary; Hannah Tooman, teacher at Lake Road Elementary; and Kelton Thompson, Head Seventh Grade Football Coach at PBJHS. These were also marked for the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
Approved certified personnel employments were Alex Bolt as Head Seventh Grade Girls Basketball Coach at PBJHS; Taylor Burnett as Assistant Football Coach at PBJHS; Brandi Compass as a teacher at PBMS; Aaron Duncan as Head Softball Coach at PBHS; Joel Hettenhausen as instrumental music teacher/Assistant Band Director at PBHS and PBJHS; Dale Kennedy as a special education teacher at PBMS; Jeffrey McLevain as Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at PBHS; Tonya Miller as an elementary art teacher at Eugene Field and Lake Road elementary schools; Ashley Moeller as a mathematics teacher at PBJHS; Candy Napier as a teacher at PBMS; Holly Poole as a teacher at PBMS; Zachary Randolph as Head Seventh Grade Football Coach at PBJHS; Chelsea Smith as a teacher at PBMS; Amanda Spain as a teacher at Lake Road Elementary; and Erica Vaughn as Head Trap Coach at PBHS and PBJHS. These are effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.
The only classified personnel retirement was Darrell Gettings, custodian at PBJHS.
Classified personnel resignations were Deborah Blemke, paraprofessional at the Kindergarten Center; Grace Brooks, paraprofessional at Mark Twain Alternative School; Heather Clifford, companion aide at PBHS; Ryan Davis, ISS instructor at PBMS; Dylan Groves, bus driver in the Transportation Department; Rebecca Hutson, paraprofessional at PBJHS; Shellcea Nepean, companion aide at PBMS; and Kevin Tucker, bus driver in the Transportation Department.
The classified personnel employments approved were Lindsay Agee as a school nurse at the Kindergarten Center; Jordan Hatfield as a custodian at Eugene Field Elementary; Jessica Kee as a restorative support instructor at Eugene Field Elementary; Rose Roberson as a paraprofessional at Eugene Field Elementary; and Hannah Tuttle as a paraprofessional at PBJHS.
