This season’s Patron of the Arts lineup includes comedy, magic and music from the Bee Gees to Bach, thanks to the ongoing collaboration between Three Rivers College and community businesses. TRC President Dr. Wes Payne recognized last season’s patrons and highlighted upcoming events at a gathering on Thursday evening at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.
“This is a program completely funded by private membership...to bring very high-end acts for low costs to our community,” he said
Last year’s patrons were Sides Construction, Kissinger & Kirkman Investment Centre, Boyd Engineering, Sterling Bank, the Daily American Republic, Dille Pollard Architecture, First Midwest Bank, Southern Bank and the Dental Arts Group. Several of these have also committed to sponsoring the upcoming season.
“We are so fortunate that so many of our sponsors have committed for the long haul,” Payne said.
The 2023-2024 Patrons of the Arts season program is:
• Mutts Gone Nuts, Oct. 3, an athletic, comedic performance by acrobatic canines and their humans.
• Haunted Illusions, Oct. 30, a spooky night of tricks and treats with a professional illusionist.
• A Christmas Carol, Dec. 4, a beloved original production returns to the stage, interweaving music with Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale.
• Stayin’ Alive, Jan. 15, 2024, a Bee Gees tribute band.
• Jubilation Jazz, Feb. 9, 2024, musicians from across Arkansas will perform a unique blend of gospel, patriotic and big band arrangements.
• Valentine’s Dinner & Show, Feb. 14, 2024, a catered meal from Tasteful Creations followed by a concert by The Piano Man, Missouri’s own Michael Michelson.
• An Evening of Classical Music, March 7, 2024, regional musicians Dr. Dan Kubis, Cindy White, Daniel Atwood and Malachai Williams perform their favorite classical selections.
• An Evening with Mark Twain, Apr. 18, 2024, veteran stage actor Richard Garey recreates Twain himself on one of his road shows of yesteryear.
All these shows will take place in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.
“None of this would be possible without our sponsors,” said Mary Libla, Patrons of the Arts chairman. She added, “We’re glad to be able to go from the craziness of the 502 and 60s to some classical music as well.”
