Officers responded shortly after 4 a.m. Sept. 24 to the 1900 block of South Broadway in response to a report of a subject that had been shot, Chief of Police Michael McClain said in a press release Saturday morning.
On-scene, officers located a male subject who had suffered a gunshot wound to the back, he said. The victim was transported by emergency medical personnel to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and was later transferred via ground transport to a medical facility in Cape Girardeau.
At last report, the injuries sustained were not life threatening. At the time of this release, a suspect has been identified and is being sought. Additional details regarding this incident will be released when available, McClain said.
