One person killed, another injured in Friday morning crash

One person was killed and another suffered serious injuries in an accident just after 8 a.m. Friday on Highway 67 North at County Road 522. According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Toyota Avalon driven by Carey Neldon, 45, of Poplar Bluff pulled into the path of a northbound 1998 Mack dump truck driven by Charles Fulford, 60, of Cape Girardeau. Neldon’s passenger, Sally Ice, 65, was pronounced at the scene by deputy coroner Brien Fugate, and Neldon was taken by Air Evac to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment. Ice is the 40th fatality in Troop E this year.
