American Esoteric Laboratories held a ribbon cutting Tuesday at its new patient service center, located at 936 Ida St. in the Sycamore Plaza.
AEL has been in operation in the Poplar Bluff area for five years as a collection-only lab service for physicians, but now offers full phlebotomy services at the new location. AEL is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The new service center opened Jan. 4 and provides the following services: Blood and urine collection for laboratory testing, COVID sample collection for testing, DOT and non-DOT urine drug screen collections, DOT and non-DOT breath alcohol testing.
While those interested can make an appointment online, there is no appointment necessary for any of the services provided. They do ask the patient to contact the office before arriving for a COVID sample collection.
Crystal McNew, port manager and area client services representative for AEL, said “If you get an order from your doctor for lab services, we offer competitive cash pricing for people who are uninsured, and we are also contracted with the major insurance carriers as an approved provider, so we accept most national insurances as well.”
American Esoteric Laboratories has served the medical community for over 50 years. AEL is a state-of-the-art, full service medical laboratory serving physician offices, hospitals and industry in the region. For more information, you can visit them on the web at www.ael.com.
