Adult psychiatrist, Brian Braumiller, DO, has joined the medical staff of Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center (PBRMC) as the new Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services.
“Dr. Braumiller brings many years of diverse service to the behavioral health service line. He has a proven track record of treating his patients holistically and improving their lives,” CEO Rick Naegler said. “As medical director, he will assist PBRMC to maintain our record of excellent service while looking to expand services to better serve our communities.”
New to Poplar Bluff, but not new to Missouri, Braumiller previously worked at Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield and Bootheel Counseling Services in Sikeston. In addition to Missouri, he has worked across the country supporting various behavioral health organizations, hospitals and correctional facilities for psychiatry services.
Braumiller graduated from Ohio University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He did his psychiatry residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, with some time spent in internal medicine and critical care at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.
“I see so much potential here,” Braumiller said. “I’m treatment oriented and like helping people and making them better, so Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is the perfect fit. Together with the team, we’ll be enhancing care locally and the surrounding area.”
Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center has a 40-bed behavioral health unit to provide inpatient care for adults experiencing mental and emotional challenges from depression and severe mood swings to dementia and acute mental illness. Treatment can include activity and occupational therapy, medication management, memory and mental status assessment, along with individual, group and family therapy. PBRMC Behavioral Health also offers patient and family education.
