The city of Poplar Bluff received a permit for a $1.2 million commercial project to be constructed at 2400 Shelby Road. Jimmy Nicholson, a financial advisor with Edward Jones, is developing the plot.
“We’re just now starting,” he explained. Nicholson said work will begin soon on plumbing and concrete footers for the 8,400-square-foot facility.
The building will host a diverse variety of tenants. Nicholson’s financial advisory office will make the move, along with medical offices and a wholesaler. He noted there is no firm date for completion, though some lease agreements are already signed.
The lot is a short distance from the two other construction projects already in progress on Shelby Road. The commercial strip south of Raider Way is nearing completion and has spots available for lease. Behind it is a new office building being built for the dentist Anderson Gilberto, according to Irene Morse of the city planning department.
She stated there are no other planned projects for Shelby Road at this time.
