The Neelyville R-IV seniors have an official day to look forward to walk across the stage.
High school graduation is set for May 8 at 6 p.m.
The last day of school for the district is May 14, and per usual, graduation will be held the weekend before.
Superintendent Debra Parish said the date doesn’t conflict with any other area school’s graduations.
At this point, she said, the district isn’t proposing any limit or restrictions on the number of people who can attend graduation. That may change based on rates of COVID-19 cases closer to May.
Parish said the district may look at tickets on the floor, which would limit the number of people down with the graduates. However, in that situation, the current plan would be for the bleachers to be open for whoever wants to attend.
Last year, the district did a virtual ceremony the day graduation was originally scheduled for after it needed to be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
When the in-person graduation happened in June, with graduates limited to 10 guests, the district live streamed the event on its website.
Parish said administration will look into live streaming graduation this year for those unable or concerned about attending in person.
