The Downtown Poplar Bluff Inc. recognized the opening of S.W. Music Source on Tuesday afternoon.

The store, owned by Tim Martin, will provide music lessons as well as selling guitars/basses, drums/cymbals, strings/straps and accessories. There will also be P.A. Rentals.

Martin said he chose the location, at 113 S. Broadway, because of its proximity to the Rodgers Theatre and the Black River Coliseum.

“Everything I’ve ever done with music or acting has been downtown,” he said. “I believe anything with the arts in a town should by downtown.”

Martin said he didn’t know what to expect with opening the store, but that things have been going well so far.

“I’m glad I did it,” he said. “Even if I was nervous to (open the store). There was a need here.”
