The Missouri State Fire Marshal is investigating one of two structure fires fought in the past three days by the Butler County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire on Oakmoore Drive at 4:09 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14. The front half of the home had heavy fire damage. The mobile home is owned by Janet Vancil. Six firefighters fought the fire. The investigation is ongoing.

Fire crews spent two hours Sunday, Feb. 12, at a structure fire on County Road 574.

According to reports, a home belonging to Michael Hayes was fully involved when the nine firefighters arrived at 11:09 p.m. They spent two hours trying to save the structure, which was totaled.

Firefighters were also called out to a motor vehicle accident last week. They responded at 6:41 p.m. Feb. 7, to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 488. The subjects were out of the vehicle prior to the fire crew’s arrival. Firefighters assisted with traffic control.
