An event will be held July 18 aimed at raising awareness and reducing stigma regarding mental health needs.

Missouri Highlands Health Care will host a free lunch and learn from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Westwood Event Center, 2445 N. Westwood Blvd.

“Designed to uplift and motivate, this lunch and learn will offer valuable insights and practical advice on mental health,” organizers said in a press release. “Whether you’re seeking support, wanting to learn more, or looking to connect with others committed to ending the stigma around mental health, this event is for you.”

Missouri Highlands hopes to create an event where people come together to engage in meaningful discussions.

Speakers will include: Dustin Hampton, chief of the HIV, STD, and hepatitis department at the Department of Health and Senior Services; Lori Johnson, clinical officer of psychiatric services at FCC Behavioral Health; and Carl Harbison, licensed professional counselor at Missouri Highlands Health Care.

Lunch will be provided by FCC Behavioral Health. While there is no cost to attend, there are limits on the number of attendees, so please secure a spot early by submitting an RSVP on the Missouri Highlands website.

“Together, we can break down barriers, spread awareness, and support one another on the journey toward better mental health,” organizers said.
