"Launch out into the deep," said Jesus unto Simon, "and let down your nets for a catch." Luke 5:4. Though he had fished all night and caught nothing, yet, in obedience to the Master he launched out into the deep, let down his net and caught more fish than he could bring in.
Here is the answer to the many unhappy and disillusioned people whose religion has not been satisfying. They have not launched out into the deep. They have not built on the solid foundation of first principles. How many times have you stepped out in faith to do something worthwhile for His cause? Hebrews 6:1 says we should leave behind the first principles and go on to perfection or to Christian maturity. The road to Christian maturity is to completely surrender your life to Jesus Christ and follow His leading. So, launch out into the deep! Christ, your Lord, has commanded you to do so. Don't be afraid of the storm--even the wind and the sea obeys His voice. Why be satisfied with wading around the shore when you can enjoy the thrills of the depths of God's love and fellowship? Don't be afraid of adventure in Christian living.
