A 70-year-old man was killed and two others seriously injured in a trio of weekend crashes in the area, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Hank L. Stufflebeam, 70, was killed Sunday evening after he allegedly was struck by a pickup on Highway 160, five miles east of Doniphan.

According to the MSHP, Stufflebeam was struck at 8:05 p.m. Sunday by a westbound 2001 Dodge 3500 operated by Robert L. Lewis, 41, of Doniphan.

Stufflebeam was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:30 p.m. by Ripley County coroner Mike Jackson. His body was taken to Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. He is the 53rd fatality in Troop E this year.

The other two accidents occurred in Stoddard County, one early Saturday morning and the other Sunday evening.

The first crash occurred at 2:21 a.m. Saturday on Highway 51, two miles north of Fisk.

According to the MSHP, Matthew S. Bollinger, 22, of Advance was operating a 2000 Toyota Tacoma southbound when it ran off the road, struck a tree and overturned.

Bollinger was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Center. He was not wearing a safety device.

At 2:54 a.m., Bollinger was arrested in Stoddard county on suspicion of DWI (alcohol), failure to drive on the right half of the road and no seatbelt. He was released.

The second accident, a three-vehicle crash, occurred at 6:45 p.m. Sunday on Highway 25, two miles south of Dexter.

According to the MSHP, Blake A. Reimann, 27, of Jackson was operating a 2014 Peterbilt crane northbound when he failed to yield and struck two vehicles — a 2011 Mazda 3 operated by Lauren M. Neuhaus, 33, of Dexter and a 1994 Suzuki Samurai operated by Daniel L. Neuhaus, 43, of Dexter — which were stuck in traffic at a fire scene. This caused Lauren Neuhaus’ vehicle to strike a pedestrian, Corey Martinez, 24, of Bloomfield.

Lauren Neuhaus was seriously injured and taken by Air Evac to St. Louis University Hospital, while Martinez sustained moderate injuries and was taken to SoutheastHEALTH in Dexter.
