VAN BUREN — The body of a 48-year-old Eminence man was found Saturday after he apparently earlier crashed his all-terrain vehicle on private property off of Brown Road, four miles south of Van Buren.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the family of Kenneth I. Yarber had reported him missing. Authorities believe he crashed his 2019 Polaris Ranger on Thursday.
The patrol report further says the crash occurred as Yarber was operating his ATV on a hill side, it slid down the hill and overturned. The exact time of the crash is unknown.
Assisting in the investigation were members of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, Carter County Fire Department and National Park Service.
Yarber was pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m. Saturday by Carter County Corner Erik McSpadden.
Yarber is the seventh fatality in Troop G this year as compared to 13 at the same time in 2018.
