A lightning strike flipped the power switch on 3,788 customers about 6:10 p.m. Wednesday.
“We had a lightning strike on our transmission line about 2.8 miles from Morrison Road substation, which is by 60 bypass where it turns and goes back toward Wilcox Road,” Municipal Utilities electric superintendent Lyndell Coleman said. “We had to drive it out, make sure everything was good.”
Coleman’s crew of three men had the power restored in 20-25 minutes.
