Two area men were killed in a pair of crashes Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The first accident occurred Tuesday at 8:25 p.m. on Highway HH, 10 miles east of Ellington.
According to the report, Lane R. Roderman, 21, of Ellington was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Impala westbound when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, ejecting Roderman.
Roderman was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. Wednesday by emergency room staff.
The second accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on Highway 142, four miles east of Thayer.
According to the report, Robert D. Widding, 34, of Doniphan was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound when it traveled off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and several trees, and also ejected Widding.
Widding was pronounced dead at the scene at 3 a.m. by Oregon County deputy coroner Robert Clary.
Roderman and Widding are the 26th and 27th deaths in Troop G this year.
