The Wappapello Lake Area Association finalized plans for the annual fireworks presentation during a June 13 meeting.

The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. July 10 at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center.

The association raised more than $13,000 for the fireworks display, according to minutes from the meeting. A fireworks vendor from Chicago, Illinois, has been secured for the event.

Tickets continue to be sold for a gun raffle that will be held at 2 p.m. June 30.

The fireworks display will be held at dusk June 30 at the lake. Another $1,000 donation was expected before the end of June. Any additional funding received will go toward the 2019 fireworks event, according to the board. Planning for next year's event will begin in September.

Members reported the organization has a separate fund balance of nearly $12,000.

The board approved contributing $150 to the Ranger Willie B. Safe Birthday Bash held in June, but did not grant a request for $1,200 to have a video developed by Mozark Media.

Reports from the group include:

* The Crowley's Ridge Black Powder Club will participate in September in Old Greenville days.

* The multipurpose room at the visitor center will undergo renovations in October/November.

* Festival of Lights planning will begin in August. More volunteers are needed for this event, and for the set up and take down of displays.

* Cape Arrowhead will hold a fundraiser Aug. 11 featuring the "Moron Brothers." Tickets are $15.

* Two new members joined the association, Stacy Diggs and Christian Swett.
