Green Forest Church of Christ is hosting Ladies Day 2022 on Saturday, April 2. The church had a history of hosting Ladies Days until the pandemic halted them, said event organizer Bethany Noles.

“We feel it’s a good way to invite ladies into our church and get them involved,” said Noles. “Everyone is welcome to come.”

The event is free to all women, but attendees are asked to email Noles to give the church a proper head count for food. Emailing is not a requirement though. Any woman who comes through the front doors of the church at 2535 Township Line at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event will be registered, given a name tag and led down to the church basement for coffee and muffins.

The morning will start at 9:30 a.m. with songs, prayers and scriptural readings.

Guest speaker Rosemary McKnight will then give the first of two lessons she will present during the morning. McKnight is a retired elementary school teacher from Henderson, Tennessee.

“I taught primary grades for 36 years,” said McKnight, “and have worked since retiring as an interventionist, working with students who score below grade level.”

She is a Bible class teacher and has been married to an elder of her home church for 46 years, according to material released by the church.

McKnight has also written three books: “Those Who Wait,” “I Love Me, I Love Me Not” and “Mustard Seeds.” She has contributed to a women’s Bible study called Woman to Woman and to a publication from Freed-Hardeman University called Compassion and Service: The Hearts and Hands of the Messiah, said Noles.

The theme of her lessons for the day is “Removing the Mask.”

“It’s not a COVID mask,” Noles assured. “That’s why we put a picture of a [masqerade] mask on our flyer. This is about being truthful with one another. It’s about being truthful before God and bearing one another’s burdens.”

There will be an interlude between McKnight’s lessons for more songs and scripture readings. After the last lesson, all event-goers are invited to a lunch provided by the women of Green Forest Church of Christ.

Any woman interested in attending Ladies Day 2022 is asked to email Noles at bethany.noles@gmail.com by March 27.
