Poplar Bluff emergency responders were called to two different accidents Saturday in the area of Davis, Bradley, Benton and Neat streets
At 4:35 p.m. Poplar Bluff police and firefighters responded to a leaving the scene accident Bradley and Davis streets. A juvenile male reported his mini bike was struck by a maroon pickup, which left the scene.
Firefighters assisted Butler County EMS with packaging and stabilizing the patient. One of the firefighters, who was a paramedic, assisted EMS in route to the meet Air EVAC. The juvenile suffered serious injuries and was transferred to Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis.
Poplar Bluff Fire Department was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 9:25 p.m. at Benton and Neat streets. Arriving on the scene, firefighters found a young boy laying in the street, said Battalion Chief Roy Lane’s reports. They checked the boy for injuries.
Police arrived on the scene. Butler County EMS arrived and took over patient care. Firefighters assisted in the loading of the patient, who was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Further details on the juvenile’s status were unavailable at press time.
