At 6:20 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of North C Street for a report of shots fired, according to a press release from the Poplar Bluff Police Department.
As officers secured the scene, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center called and said two adult males were brought to the Emergency Room for treatment of gunshot wounds, officers reported. One of the subjects was said to be in critical condition, and he was transported to a hospital in St Louis.
The preliminary investigation determined the shooting was a result of a violent confrontation at the residence, police say. As of 9 p.m. Thursday, a juvenile male was identified as the person who fired the weapon, and the investigation continues.
No additional information was available as Thursday night.
