James D. Bell, 81-year-old Doniphan, Mo. resident, departed this life Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born Nov. 27, 1938 in Bardley, Mo., to the late Paul Oliver and Nona Jane (Woodring) Bell.

James was a logger and an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.

On Dec. 13, 1963, he married (Margaret) Sue Marsh. She survives.

Also surviving are his three children, Sherry Ann Bell of Bardley, Thomas Bell of Kansas City, Mo., and Paula Marie Wilkerson of Alton, Mo.; his sister, Mary Reva McKinley of Tennessee; seven grandsons, Eric, James, Joey Jr., Dylan, Cody, Jeremy, and Paul; and his great-grandchildren, Erica, Isaac, Ollie, and Hunter.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his sisters, Mozella LaDear Dale, Elizabeth Watson, and Joyce Barr, and his brother, Jack Bell.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Twin Pines Pentecostal Church with Pastor J. W. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bardley Cemetery.
