The Puxico baseball team snapped a two-game losing skid as Lucas Plunkett knocked a walk-off single to edge Neelyville 4-3, completing a comeback as the Indians trailed by two runs in the seventh on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Dalton Phillips and Kasen Barnfield led Puxico (2-5) with three hits apiece. Barnfield went the whole way on the mound and struck out six Neelyville (1-8) batters on the day while allowing just two earned runs.

A combined eight runs in the first two innings allowed Naylor to make easy work of Puxico 11-1 in five innings Friday.

Eli Roark and Chase Sarabia each led the Eagles with three hits, while Roark filled the stat sheet by tallying a pair of RBIs and drawing two walks. Seth Jones batted in three runs to lead the way for Naylor. Jones was just as good on the mound, allowing one earned run and striking out three in four innings of work.

The Indians lost 10-0 at Bernie on Monday.

VOLLEYBALL

The Bell City Cubs notched their third win of the season and clinched their second conference victory with a 25-16, 25-18 win at home over the Indians on Monday.

Bell City improved to 3-10-1 overall and moved up to 2-2 in the SCAA Conference while Puxico fell to 2-8-2 overall and dropped to 1-2 in the conference.

No additional information was provided.

On Thursday, the Indians lost a home match to Clearwater 25-17, 25-19 after a loss at Sikeston earlier in the week.
