Entertainment in Park Announced

Plans are well underway for the 2017 71st Annual Puxico Homecoming here, slated for Aug. 8-12.

Doyle Mitchell, himself a lifetime member of the Puxico VFW Post #7822, would like to announce the Entertainment in Veteran's Park.

It is as follows: Aug. 10-Puxico R-8 School Band, Aug. 11-gospel singing featuring Greater Vision's Youth sign and drama, Greater Praise, Reunited Trio, the Mitchells, Ada Bryant and more and Aug. 12- Steve Dixon. Rev. Dixon is a repeat performer in this area, having visited Puxico schools and Mingo Job Corps in past years.

This should be a great year for all activities this special week.

Homecoming Booths

During Homecoming, the majority of the downtown streets will be under the control of VFW Post #7822. However, the City will have a 50-foot section of street area on the south of Richardson Avenue from Mel's Diner to the parking lot that it can designate for use by non-profit organizations.

Plans at this time are to divide this 50 feet into 6 slots, each of which could have up to a eight foot table and chairs within it. The organization must provide its own table and chairs.

Any not-for-profit organization may request one of these slots by filling out a form at City Hall. There is no charge for the use of the area. Requests will be approved on first come-first serve basis. City Hall hours are 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. If you have any questions, please call 573-222-3162.
