Los Amigos Cantina & Grill, a new family-owned establishment in Neelyville, celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
“We are so grateful for everyone that is here today, we have worked so hard and put everything into this and we are so excited,” said co-owner Katlyn Grimaldo.
The new restaurant, according to Katlyn Grimaldo, aims to provide a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere for its customers.
Katlyn said that she and her husband Geovanny, along with his brother Kevin, have poured their hearts and souls into this venture. According to Katlyn, the business is a family affair. The Grimaldo family, including Katlyn Grimaldo’s mother and sister, have played a crucial role in making the grand opening a success.
In addition to creating new job opportunities for the area, Los Amigos Cantina & Grill aspires to be more than just a place to eat. Katlyn Grimaldo emphasized the importance of fostering a “family-friendly atmosphere.”
She stated, “We’re going be together 12 hours a day, most days, so we want this to be a family-friendly atmosphere, not only for our customers but for our team as well.”
Los Amigos Cantina & Grill is the first business venture for the Grimaldos and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the family.
Katlyn Grimaldo, who explained she has personally worked in the restaurant business for six years, said, “We had a dream. It’s always been our dream to do something on our own. We have kids, and we want to provide a future for them and we wanted something to be our baby. Something that represents us and showcases our beliefs and interests.”
Drawing from their collective experience of over 12 years in the restaurant industry, including Geovanny’s upbringing in a family-owned restaurant, they have transformed their dream into a reality.
The restaurant will be closed on Mondays, but from Tuesday to Thursday it will welcome guests from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.. and on Fridays and Saturdays customers can enjoy their meals until 10 p.m. On Sundays, the restaurant will operate from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to Katlyn Grimaldo, the menu offerings are authentic and carefully prepared. “We have put everything into this,” she said. “We want to ensure that the taste is right and that it looks great. We want to ensure that everyone has something to enjoy.”
The restaurant offers not only Mexican cuisine but also items such as hamburgers and chicken strips, ensuring there is something on the menu for every customer.
