This week’s MAIN EVENT includes fun ways to celebrate and support the Poplar Bluff community.
The Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation Department is holding a St. Patrick’s Day Run on Saturday morning at Hendrickson Park. The race will begin after a 7:30 a.m. check-in.
The $10 participation fee covers T-shirts for runners and awards for the winners; first and second place awards will be given to the top male and female runners in different age groups. The categories are 19 and younger; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; and Golden Oldies 60 and older. Those interested can register at the Parks and Recreation office or online at pbparks.org.
Youth from Sacred Heart School and Church are holding a “Pi” Day Fundraiser to raise money for the Stockton Mission Project, which serves one of the most impoverished areas of Missouri. The bake sale is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday in the St. Anne’s Dining Hall, located next to Sacred Heart School. Patrons can purchase a slice of pie and a cup of coffee for $3.14 or a whole pie for $10. To donate a pie, call Betty Woods at 573-714-4277.

— Hearts for Rescue Bake Sale/Meet and Greet, 10 am.-2 p.m. March 11. WHERE Petco in Poplar Bluff. COST Free. WHAT Hearts for Rescue will be selling St. Patrick’s Day-themed goodies and introducing adoptable dogs to the public.

— Extreme Dwarfanators Wrestling, 7 p.m. March 11 WHERE Black River Coliseum COST $5-$40

— Book Buzz Club: Movie Night, 6 p.m. March 16. WHERE The Wine Rack. WHAT Book club is held the third Thursday of every month. This month’s theme is movie night.
