The State Fire Marshal is investigating one of the four structure fires fought by Butler County firefighters since Monday.
Firefighters responded twice Wednesday, Aug. 24, to a home at 411 Garfield St. in Fisk and owned by Gary Lacy, according to reports. When the crew first arrived at 1:51 p.m., fire was on the outside of the house, firefighters said. It took three trucks and four firefighters to fight the fire.
On the second call, at 6:46 p.m., the report stated heavy fire was found throughout the house. Crews responding include five firefighters and three trucks.
While no cause has been identified for the fires this week, the fire marshal has been asked to investigate the Fisk fire.
Three other structure fires were battled by county firefighters this week.
At 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, county firefighters responded to 889 County Road 307 to a structure fire at an abandoned church.
The building sustained heavy damage. Information on the owner was not available. Four firefighters using three trucks responded.
At 2:22 p.m. Tuesday, fire crews responded to 2057 Cravens Lane for a mobile home fire.
The report stated there was heavy fire damage to the rear bedroom. The owner is Doug Clark.
At 9:20 a.m. Monday, crews responded to a structure fire at 780 County Road 425. The home was fully involved when the first truck arrived. The structure owned by Dallas Welling was totaled, according to fire reports. Three trucks responded.
