The Fisk Fall Harvest Festival is Saturday and planners are expecting a large crowd for the annual celebration.
“Come and enjoy a day of games, fellowship, entertainment, crafts and lots of food,” said Fisk City Clerk Melinda Ratley.
This is the first year, she along with Raymond Stewart and Fisk alderwomen Bobbette Parsons and Kristi Wilkerson have organized the event.
Proceeds from the annual event will be used to brighten the holidays for underprivileged families, Ratley said.
While activities will center around the park, the parade lineup will begin at 9 a.m. in the school parking lot.
Also at 9 a.m. booths will open, the silent auction begins, 50/50 tickets will be sold and anyone who wants to participate in the cornhole tournament, play bingo or put a name in the pot for attendance prizes to be drawn at random may register at the welcome booth, Ratley said.
The National Anthem will be sung at 9:30 a.m., before the parade, which begins at 10 a.m. The schedule also includes: 11 a.m., karaoke; noon, cornhole tournament; 1 p.m., bake auction; 2 p.m., bingo; and at 3 p.m., the silent auction winners and the 50/50 winner will be announced.
The bake auction is food from “a lot of the people who donate goodies” to be sold to the highest bidder, explained Ratley, adding, “all proceeds from the fall festival will be used to benefit our community and the support of underprivileged families for the holiday seasons. Last year, we were fortunate to adopt 34 children for the holidays and this year we hope to surpass that. We thank you all for your help and assistance.”
