At approximately 11:45 a.m. Friday, Poplar Bluff firefighters were dispatched to a passenger vehicle fire in McCoy’s Scrap Processing Co., 635 S. Sixth St. The six firefighters from two stations used 750 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. After the fire crews initially knocked down the flames, a McCoy worker operating the excavator was able to turn the vehicle right side up so the firefighters could better access areas on fire.
