Firefighters responded at 2:28 p.m. to 1503 Grand Ave., and spent about two hours at the scene, according to Harmon’s report. The fire originated in a bedroom.

The first crew arrived and found a single-story ranch home with heavy smoke and flames showing. Bystanders reported a juvenile had sustained burns and was in need of emergency medical services. EMS was en route to the scene.

Crews from fire stations 1 and 3 made entry into the structure to make sure there was no one else inside and to extinguish the fire.

Additional fire personnel at the scene included Austin Armes, Tanner Tibbs, Joshua Buhler, Jonathan Miller, Kenneth Felts, Mykel Limanen, Chad Bell, Andrew Fox and Fire Chief Mike Moffitt.

Four apparatuses were used at the scene.
